Stuff I Like

Recently, I've noticed that my life is becoming more hectic as work has gotten busier and I have established more a routine. This routine consists of the teaching, cooking more at home, and going to the gym as often as possible. (Less photography for now = Booooo!)

One thing I do try to make time for right now is checking blogs. They often make me laugh, smile, think or just motivate me to get out and do something productive! Here are three that I'm really feelin' right now:

Nic Cage as Everyone always gives me a good giggle. Basically it's a blog in which Nicolas Cage's face is cleverly photoshopped onto other celebrities or characters' faces. It's good for a laugh and just makes me smile because of pictures like these:

The Image is Found takes photography to another level. They're a husband and wife photography team, but they're not your typical posed shot photogs. They do lots of quirky, cool, funky-fresh stuff, but even more than my love of their photography, is my admiration for their family life. They often post photos of their children and they just make me smile :)

My Sexy Soul: I went to college with the lovely girl who writes this blog and I wish I had gotten to know her more while there. Her blog is genuine, real, soooo inspiring. Everytime I visit her blog, I seem to really tune into her insights on how to see yourself and your life from a different perspective.

In other news, I had a yucky 'wish i could do it over' week. One of those that suck when you're experiencing it, but then you can also breathe a sigh of relief knowing that same icky week is now behind you [knock on wood!}. I'm really looking forward to this weekend. I'm sure it will involve the gym, basketball, Starbucks, and my camera!

Blessings

HAPPY 2010 to all! I hope this year brings goodness and fortune to everyone.

I'm already counting my blessings and I couldn't be happier about starting another year. I get to sing silly songs, dance goofy dances, and giggle all afternoon with kids; I love my job.

I get to come home to a nice cozy apartment with my little kitten, Ninja, patiently waiting in the kitchen so he can watch me cook.

I have amazing friends and family who are so thoughtful and considerate and support me in my endeavors, even though I'm all the way on the other side of the world.

I get to travel with my patient husband on his road trips. Oh how I love road trips. The exploring, the people, the endless photographic opportunities...

Last weekend, I got to go to one of my favorite cities in Japan: Sapporo. It was a snowy, peaceful, fresh-aired wonderland, and I smiled from the moment I arrived, til the plane lifted off the runway back towards Tokyo.

There was a huge aquarium at the Sapporo Airport. I love this little guy's scales.

On the way to the airport, one of Abe's teammates asked us if we got a chance to build a snowman while in Hokkaido. We replied with a disappointing "NO", to our dismay. Abe wouldn't let us leave without trying. So here was our sad, saaaad, attempt literally outside the terminal:
