Maternity/Family Shoot: The Garcia Family

I don't know why this session was so fulfilling for me. I always leave photo sessions feeling happy and excited for what the photos will look like and for my clients to see themselves through my lens. This session left me with a different feeling....

Maybe it was because Peggy has lived in household with only boys for the last several years. Perhaps it is because I knew her when I was in preschool and have always had fond memories of her letting me tag along with my older sister on random outings as a child. (I hadn't seen her for years until this session!)

In any case, I felt such love around this family. The way we all drove down to the beach together. The way they were so comfortable being just themselves. The way I felt like a member of their family at dinner. Or the car ride home talking about differences between the US and Japan.

Whatever it was, I felt such a wonderful feeling around this family. And I hope when Abe and I start a family, that same feeling is present in our house. They were just so naturally fun. And carefree. And awesome.

Her youngest (soon to be middle child) who had so much energy and just cracked me up with the funny things he said...

Peggy and Andy, thank you so much for inviting me to spend time with your beautiful, growing family and for treating me like an old friend. I genuinely enjoyed every minute of it and truly hope you enjoy your photos. I'm super excited for the arrival of Penny and can't wait to meet her!
